The Railroad Shop

Welcome to the Railroad Shop. On this page is were the 1 1/2" and possibly 2.5" scale projects are going to be shown. I have several projects in mind.

Many years ago I belonged to the Finger Lakes Live Steamers Club and got very interested in 1 1/2" scale live steam. At that time I had intentions of building the Clishay that was written up in Live Steam magazine. I got as far as getting some angle iron and flat plate to make the platform for the loco back in 1997. That's as far as I got. Now with finally having a house and a shop I can get back to the live steam projects. I recently rejoined the FLLS club and want to start building an electric propelled loco to have something to run on the tracks while the other two projects can be worked on in the mean time. I plan on building the Clishay next, but modified somewhat and then the big project will be the Ken Schroeder 3 cylinder 3 truck shay. Right now as I write this in the summer of 2003 in a nice cool basement I'm hoping for a long winter. Although I still have a lot of finish work to do on the house I think I can squeeze in a few hours of machining on one of the 1 1/2" scale projects.

I am also interested in HO, HOn3, O, On3 and On30. If your interested you can go to my other site dedicated to model railroading at New York, Vermont, & Northern Railway. When done, just close the window.
